Rich Swann has officially parted ways with the WWE. Swann has been away from WWE TV since his arrest for domestic violence back in December. Swann jumped out to the front of the cruiserweight division early on in 205 Live’s first year, with WWE fans reacting well to his outlandish style and funky music.

Swann’s popularity and high-flying ring style led him to a Cruiserweight title run that lasted for two months. Swann was the third champion since the title’s revival after the Cruiserweight Classic.

Swann was on his way to another feud with then-champion Enzo Amore until his arrest derailed any plans the WWE had for him. He was immediately suspended, and his number one contender spot was given to Cedric Alexander. On February 15, WWE announced via Twitter that they and Swann had mutually agreed on a release.

Swann’s friend and sometimes manager Sasha Banks made a small comment on the announcement. WWE wished Swann the best in his future endeavors.
