Former PROGRESS owner leaves WWE NXT UK

Former PROGRESS Wrestling owner Glen Joesph has reportedly ‘stepped down’ from his position with WWE’s NXT UK brand.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Joesph left NXT UK due to ‘personal reasons.’ It has also been confirmed that fellow former PROGRESS owner Jim Smallman will now be the ‘head writer’ for the UK brand going forward.

Dave Meltzer reported the following in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer:

“At a zoom meeting on 9/24, the talent was told Glen Joseph, the former co-owner of Progress and head writer of NXT U.K, has left the promotion due to personal reasons and that Jim Smallman, another former co-owner of Progress is now head writer for the brand.”

It was also alluded to that Glen Joesph supposedly left his position with PROGRESS due to the recent Speaking Out movement.

“Joseph was with Progress through June, when he left his post over allegations by women against him. Smallman left Progress at the end of this past year to work full-time for WWE. NXT U.K.”
