Former WWE Diva & Current TNA Knockout Has More Words for Kim Couture

– Wrestler and MMA fighter-in-training Lisa Marie Varon (known as Tara in TNA, formerly Victoria in WWE) has been exchanging words with Strikeforce fighter Kim Couture. The latest shot has been fired by Lisa Marie Varon, who is stepping up the intensity of her words and addresses Kim Couture directly in a lengthy blog post. The following is from Varon’s MySpace blog:

Hey MySpacers !!!

So I heard my name mentioned a couple times recently in MMA circles. The first was because I have been talking to a couple agents regarding MMA endorsements. Well in a conversation, I mentioned to one that a promoter had approached my camp about fighting Kim Couture (as I mentioned in my July 2nd blog). The numbers weren’t right for the fight, but appearantly the agent wanted to see if there was interest in me in the MMA community. So without my knowledge, he gave an interview to the Dayton Daily News, suggesting that he represtented me and that I am gunning for Kim Couture. Neither were true. So to the Dayton Daily News, I say,”Check your facts!”.

As well as an athlete and entertainer, I am a business owner, and have been for years. For the time being, I can represent myself. I believe boxing great Bernard Hopkins represented himself through his whole career. I know that in the infancy of my MMA career, I can adequately represent myself. If you want to know about my fight status, talk to myself or one of my coaches.

Then it seems that Kim Couture gets stirred up and says to MMAJunkie.com that she has no idea who I am, and that I look big, and she doesn’t know if I can get to the 135 lb weight class. Kim, I do walk around in the low 150’s. But as a former bodybuilder and fitness competitor, I know how to cut weight as good or better than most fighters. I cut to 119 for one show. I know I can get to 135. But frankly, you don’t want me to. I know pro wrestling is nothing like MMA. But anyone who has watched my career has some insight into what my fighting potential is. I broke the jaw of powerhouse Beth Pheonix in three places with a slap (which I sincerely regret to this day). I tugged 270 lb Awesome Kong out of the ring with one arm the other day on TNA. I dropped 15 feet to the cement floor head first last week and got up to finish the match. I have always had freakish physical ability.

And for my MMA skills, they get better every day. I train as hard as anyone in the business. I spar with Terri Blair, who is currently a Female Boxing champion in two organizations. I roll with Helio Soneca who is world renowned as a jiu-jitsu coach. And I train with former UFC and Pride fighter Alex Steibling. I am ready for a fight today.

So Kim, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the heart you showed in your first pro fight. Tremendous. And you may be a nice stepping stone for me if I choose to drop down to 135. But as for the veiled insults toward me, I find them cute. Because for us to meet up in the ring, you’d be bringing a knife to a gun fight. I hope to be attending the Strikeforce event in Oklahoma next month. Perhaps I’ll see you there.
