Former WWE Star dies of brain cancer

Former WWE Star and Tough Enough winner Matt Cappotelli has died of brain cancer.

Cappotelli had revealed that his brain cancer returned last year and about a month ago, his wife Lindsay had announced that his medical team had determined it was the time to discontinue the treatment.

Now in a heart whelming Facebook post, she revealed that her husband and the former OVW Heavyweight Champion passed away yesterday morning:

Hey Team Capp…I’ve been struggling with what to say and how to say this, and I’ll probably end up rambling, but here goes. Today my love-my strong, sweet, beautiful love-took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus…exactly one year after his brain surgery. You think you can be prepared for this when you know it’s coming, but you just can’t. The only person who’s comfort I want right now is the one who can’t give it to me. I miss him so much. I know where he is now is so much better, but it doesn’t change how much I miss him.

Cappotelli won the third season of the WWE reality show and was awarded a contract as a result, alongside former star John Morrison.

After his win, he made several appearances on various WWE shows and was then sent to the development territory OVW for further training. He announced his retirement from wrestling due to a malignant brain tumor in April 2007.

Our condolences to the friends and family of Matt Cappotelli following this said news. RIP.
