Fox wants WWE to produce edgier content

WWE has a lot of things to do as they are preparing to move Smackdown Live to Fox in October. The show will air on Fridays from then onwards.

WWE would benefit from producing more edgier content since their ratings are currently plummeting. WWE did try some non-PG segments a couple of months ago featuring Alexa Bliss and Mandy Rose, which did very well online. However, they haven’t done anything of that sort ever since.

WWE’s decision to go PG was their decision, so they can go back to TV-14 if they wanted to. While it might be hard to revert back to TV-14, Fox is still asking for the move nonetheless.

Rajah reports that Fox is “looking for WWE to produce a more edgier product and that they aren’t looking to give into the PC culture that dominates current WWE programming.”

Fans have been asking for more edgy content in the storylines for a long time now, so we will have to wait and see what WWE does in the end.
