Francis Ngannau Major Injury News Leaks

The UFC star Francis Ngannau has been sidelined ahead of UFC 265 and ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported on Monday that Dana White announced Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane for the Interim UFC Heavyweight title fight at UFC 265 that is set to take place on Saturday, August 7.

 


 

The decision came upon as Ngannou was reportedly unavailable to defend his title against Lewis in June or August.

It has been also noted that Ngannou’s management was shocked to hear the announcement of the fight and Okamoto had broke the news.

Here’s what Ngannou’s agent, Marquel Martin, told Okamoto:

“This comes as a complete shock. To make an interim title so soon, if you look at the history of this division, it comes as a surprise. We hope to get clarity and figure out something with the UFC soon.”

Lewis who is currently No. 2 is on a four-fight winning streak with finishes over Curtis Blaydes and Aleksei Olenik.

While, Gane at No. 3 will go into the fight on a unblemished 9-0 career run and most recently picked up victory over Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 30 on Saturday, June 26.
