Gervonta Davis Allegedly Went After Pregnant Woman

According to BoxingScene, Gervonta Davis was arrested on Tuesday evening in Broward County, Florida. According to the report, the arrest was related to a domestic violence accusation.

Davis was later arrested by Parkland Police on one count of Battery Causing Bodily Harm. Davis is scheduled to appear in court today, where formal charges are expected to be filed. Davis will almost certainly be given bond requirements at this hearing.

Davis is set to defend his WBA (regular) lightweight title against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in the main event of a Premier Boxing Champions show that will air on Showtime pay-per-view.

Davis’ fight with Garcia is a must-win for him. Davis was expected to easily win that fight, setting up a superfight with Ryan Garcia later in the year. However, this arrest calls all of that into question.

Davis is currently dealing with a number of legal issues. He is scheduled to appear in court in Baltimore in February to answer 14 charges stemming from a suspected hit-and-run incident in November 2020.

Davis is accused of slamming his SUV into a car carrying four passengers, including a pregnant woman, before fleeing the scene in that incident. Davis is also facing a civil lawsuit as a result of this incident.

Showtime has yet to respond to questions about whether Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia will take place as planned.
