Goldberg DEFEATS The Fiend and BECOMES the NEW Universal Champion

As seen on WWE Super ShowDown, Goldberg faced the Fiend Bray Wyatt for the WWE Universal Championship Match.

The two men had an intense face-off before the match officially started. Minutes into the match, however, Goldberg hit the Fiend with a spear but couldn’t successfully pin him.

The Fiend countered with a mandible claw but the Hall of Famer got out of it and managed to hit Wyatt with multiple spears. However, Wyatt kicked out of it again and once again applied the Mandible Claw on his opponent.

In the end, Goldberg delivered another massive spear followed by a Jackhammer to shockingly pin The Fiend and become the NEW Universal Champion.

This shocking change of events could lead to multiple outcomes, as reported throughout the past month. However, to know for sure, we will all have to tune into SmackDown tomorrow night.

Goldberg winning the title in the first place hurt Goldberg. What’s best for Goldberg’s career is irrelevant. He shouldn’t even be there.

Every part of that decision is bad. Still don’t think it’s okay to wish Roman would die though.

  • Dirt McGirt

I don’t expect him to be a jobber, I expect Reigns to do the right thing and say “Vince, I am not the guy. I will never be the guy. Stop trying to push Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns sucks. You had a chance to get me over by bringing me back as Joe after my last bout of cancer, but you didn’t. No one except you wants a Superman in 2020.” Roman Reigns is the new Dolph Ziggler. There is no way to salvage the character. Joe would have to leave WWE, change his name, his look, his moveset, his taunts, everything. Then, come back as that guy, and MAYBE people would accept him. In the six months he spent feuding with Corbin, you know how many times Corbin won? Once. They couldn’t even give Corbin wins by distracted roll ups, outside interference, wins in gimmick matches, nothing. I’m not saying Corbin deserves to be in the main event, he doesn’t, but the whole last year of their booking did NOTHING to give Corbin one single bit of credibility, in fact I think it hurt him because all it did was show that no matter how many chances you give him, Corbin will always lose. Almost every single week Reigns either opens the show, closes the show, or both. No one wants that. And yes, Reigns has been kept away from the title, but all that does is make the champ look like he’s only the champ because he hasn’t faced Reigns yet. It’s the same damn thing they do with Charlotte and people actively tuned out of NXT this week because they knew she’d be on. What do people want? People want that when Reigns does get title shots, he loses and moves on to something else and let someone else have the spotlight. People are going to boo that match at Mania just like the did when Reigns faced Lesnar a few years ago, just like they did when Lesnar took on Goldberg back in the early 2000s. It’s not a match people want, and those that do understand that it shouldn’t be for the title and Reigns should not be the one going over. Reigns beating Goldberg doesn’t help Reigns, it hurts Goldberg, just like when Rock beat Punk. Rock didn’t look like a bigger deal, Punk looked worse.

  • Keith Learmonth

You’re right. It’s like blaming the regional manager for the decisions of the CEO, maybe not the cashier. He might have some decision making power, but he still answers to Vince.

What do you expect him to do? Just give up on everything he’s worked for? Become a jobber? He’s spent the last year hovering around the mid-card, I’m not sure what more people want from him.

  • Dirt McGirt

You don’t think he has any pull? Refuse to go out there and put the other guy over or quit. By not doing that he does shoulder blame. Your metaphor is not applicable.

  • Keith Learmonth

Reigns deserves blame because… he does what he gets paid to do?

That’s like saying that if a burger joint changes the meat recipe so the boss can save money, and the new meat makes you sick, that it’s somehow the cashier’s fault.

  • Dirt McGirt

You’re a pathetic coward. You sit there and attack me for stating the hard truth while you offer no solutions. You’re the person that when you have a fish tank and one fish attacks all the others, you get rid of all the others instead of the problem fish.

  • Dirt McGirt

It’s not just not what I WANT it to be, it’s not the way it SHOULD be. You’re so smart, tell me the alternative since vince won’t change and Reigns won’t do the right thing. Otherwise, sit down and be quiet.

  • Jesus Ortiz

Like I said you getting a life would be a great option.

  • Jesus Ortiz

He doesn’t wish death upon people. What are you talking about?

  • Jesus Ortiz

    Just like you did

  • Dirt McGirt

I’m not the problem. You’re shifting blame off of those who deserve it: vince, Reigns, and the writers. Instead of using your brain and making a useful contribution, you flapped your gums and wasted time.

  • Keith Learmonth

The alternative is “you stop being a trash human being”.
Or maybe you could just die, seeing as you’re not going to do that. 😉

  • Dirt McGirt

You got an alternative? I’d love to hear it.

  • ROB-1.

No. A cat has 9 lives.

  • CC

There is zero point debating with this guy. This is not the first time he has wished death on someone.

  • CC

Can this be the last time we see you?

  • Dirt McGirt

You took time out of your day to make that remark? You’re the one who needs to get a life.

  • Jesus Ortiz

    Getting a life

  • Dirt McGirt

Reigns will never be the guy. No one sees him as the guy. No one wants him as the guy. Reigns won’t retire nor seems to do the right thing and refuse to win key matches. You tell me the alternative.

  • Keith Learmonth

You know, saying that a guy who just recovered from Cancer should probably die, reflects badly on you. You’re better than that.

  • Keith Learmonth

    For f***s sake, WWE.
I don’t see how -anyone- can defend this decision.

  • Omar

    So stupid its funny

  • ROB-1.

Hope this is the last time I see the Fiend.

  • rob

LOL hahah, i don’t care about the fiend at all, his name alone is cringe but wwe should start thinking long term, how long they will rely on legends, this is just ridiculous at this point and i don’t hate goldberg

  • Anonymous

This is just sad. Kudos WWE, you finally managed to ruin the Fiend. It took them a while, though.

  • wwemrpeeps85

    Pathetic

  • Dirt McGirt

This is why vince needs to pass away, and probably Reigns, too. No one wants Reigns as champ except that old piece of sh*t vince.
