Goldberg Injured Before Major WWE Title Match

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg has been on the receiving end of a lot of negative backlash from fans. Many fans have been saying Goldberg does not deserve all the title opportunities that he gets in WWE, especially due to his status as a part-timer in the company.

At WWE Super Showdown in 2020, Goldberg squared off against Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend in a Universal Title match. The match would see Goldberg picking up the win after hitting a Jackhammer, much to the disdain of fans everywhere.

The decision was definitely not a favourable one and was met with a lot of hate from fans. Many fans lambasted Goldberg for getting the win, saying that he ruined the Fiend’s character.

Many fans noted that Jack Hammer was botched and was more like a suplex. It seems there is more to this story than initially thought.

According to FightfulSelect, Goldberg was apparently injured prior to the match.

Before his[Goldberg] Bray Wyatt match, he wasn’t even that gung-ho on doing it. He was dealing with a shoulder injury and he was happy just using a spear and everything seemed agreed upon between Bray Wyatt and Goldberg. Vince McMahon was adamant that Goldberg use the Jackhammer to win the match, which is what happened.
