WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg made his return to WWE in 2016 after a hiatus of more than a decade from the company. He would go on to defeat Brock Lesnar in a squash match at Survivor 2016 and then win the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in 2017. He defended his title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in one of the main events of the show. Goldberg also replaced a big name at WrestleMania.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E recently spoke on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Rick Ucchino, Big E said he grew up idolizing Goldberg in the 1990s. Due to this, if Universal Championship was on the line in either match, Big E stated that he would prefer to face off against Goldberg instead of Roman Reigns. This is despite the fact that Roman Reigns vs Big E has been teased for quite a long time now.
“I think just for full circle, man, just thinking back to me as a kid and just being amazed by Goldberg, my favorite wrestler ever. It’s hard, I don’t think I could pick against Goldberg. If everything’s in a vacuum and the same things that are on the line for Roman are on the line for Goldberg, I gotta go Goldberg.”
