Goldberg should retire in House Burning Match vs The Fiend says John Cena Sr.

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg squared off against Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Despite his best efforts, Goldberg was unable to defeat McIntyre for the title.

Many are wondering how Goldberg will end his in-ring career and it seems John Cena’s father has an interesting idea about that.

While speaking to Boston Wrestling MWF’s Dan Mirade, John Cena Sr. said that Goldberg shouldn’t retire after his loss to Drew McIntyre. Cena Sr. added that the WWE Hall Of Famer should be engaged in a rivalry which is storyline-centric.

He then proposed that Goldberg should face The Fiend in a House Burning Match, where The Fiend would get revenge on Goldberg for his loss at WWE Super Showdown 2020.

“I would think, if I’m gonna end Goldberg’s career, I would put him in there against The Fiend in a House Burning Match. I’m just using a gimmick. The house burns down and Goldberg’s in it. That takes care of his contract. He’s out, he’s done. I don’t think that [losing to Drew McIntyre at the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble] is a way to let a man of his stature, stamina, and professionalism go out. He’s a great guy, he really is.”

Goldberg’s current contract allows him to take part in two matches annually and his contract is set to end in 2023. We will have to see how he ends his in-ring career.
