Goldberg is someone who can get away with a lot more than the average superstar would be able to get away with. Recently, Goldberg was seen on Monday Night Raw recently cutting a very intense promo against Bobby Lashley. While the promo was filled with the usual Goldberg frame of mind for the approach, Goldberg stated one thing about Bobby Lashley that can’t be forgiven by those behind the scenes of things at WWE. Goldberg recently said in his latest promo that he would ‘kill’ Bobby Lashley. Words and actions such as this are banned in WWE due to the graphic nature of the talk and action itself. WWE is still rated PG and they do want to continue to go down that path in order to keep their younger demographic engaged and parents happy.
As of now, there’s no word out if Vince McMahon was furious or not backstage from watching this promo be done on Raw, but if I had to assume anything at all, I would imagine that Goldberg gets the pass here by Vince McMahon as Goldberg is grandfathered in pretty hard to WWE and for Vince McMahon in general.
We will have to see if WWE wants to push a ‘harder’ direction for their programming or if this was just a slip up.
