Goldberg surprised everyone by ending the Fiend’s dominating run and defeating him for the Universal Championship at the Super Showdown event.
After this win, WWE has announced that the new Universal Champion will be present at this week’s episode of SmackDown to start his run as the new top champion of the Blue Brand:
“Goldberg is headed to Friday Night SmackDown, and he’s bringing the Universal Title with him. The WWE Hall of Famer sent shockwaves through the sports-entertainment world when he defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WWE Super Showdown. Instead of who’s next, the WWE Universe will be wondering what’s next for Goldberg as he heads into his second reign as Universal Champion.”
WWE is also teasing the reveal of the upcoming plans for the Universal Champion and with Elimination Chamber being less than 2 weeks away; it’s likely that the company will announce the chamber match to determine the new #1 contender for the Universal title at WrestleMania.
