We reported a few days back that there has allegedly between secret negotiations between WWE and Ring of Honor (ROH) for a full buyout, however a new post from CBS Sports’ Chuck Carroll does its best to pour cold water over those claims.
Carroll mentions that according to people with “direct knowledge of the situation,” ROH will categorically not be sold to WWE. A high ranking source also said “there is no story here” in relation to the recent claims.
There is no indication on which side of the fence his source comes from, but the post references an interview he conducted earlier this month with ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff, who stated that Sinclair was open to talks and had provided footage to WWE in order to promote former ROH stars now working on WWE programming, but denied sale rumors.
