Hiromu Takahashi returns to NJPW

Hiromu Takahashi had to relinquish the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship after getting injured following his match against El Desperado in June last year.

Following Will Ospreay’s successful defence of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship against BUSHI at NJPW Power Struggle, a video played on the video walls, which showed a countdown to January 4th. Hiromu Takahashi then made his return to NJPW and challenged Ospreay to a match for the championship at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

Takahashi returned with his cat family, Daryl and El Hijo Del Daryl. He performed a neck bridge to show that he has fully recovered and is ready to take back the championship he never lost.
