How did WWE respond to Chris Jericho’s signing with AEW?

The AEW Double or Nothing Rally had a number of surprises up its sleeves, but the biggest one was probably the official announcement of Chris Jericho’s signing with the company.

Jericho was long rumored to be involved with the promotion. However, a lot of people still saw him as a WWE guy, so his signing still became a topic of discussion in no time.

Since Chris Jericho wasn’t signed with WWE in any capacity, the company didn’t respond to this news officially. Although they did make a couple of moves which shows their reaction.

Chris’s signing was announced earlier in the day. Responding to it, WWE moved the former World Champion’s profile to the alumni section of their website by the evening:

Not only that but some fans noted that WWE was also quick to edit the SmackDown Live intro which aired later in the night and the former World Champion was removed from the video package.

Now the big question is if WWE was aware of Jericho’s signing with AEW beforehand and if not, then will the company be treating him similar to stars like CM Punk and Neville and cease any mention of him on their programming in future?
