Huge potential match reportedly planned for WrestleMania 34

We recently reported how the arena for the upcoming Fastlane PPV had spoiled the main event of the upcoming show revealing that AJ Styles will be defending his WWE Championship in a Fatal Five Way match.

The other participants for the Championship bout according to the advertisement on the Arena’s website are Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Since Roman Reigns is penned to challenge Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, a SmackDown Star is expected to win the Royal Rumble this year and go on to challenge AJ Styles.

However, this news essentially rules out all four of these stars as potential Royal Rumble winners since it would not make much sense for any of them to win the Rumble but challenge the Champion in a multi-person match before the Show Of Shows.

Due to this many believed that it will be John Cena winning the Battle Royal and he will go after the Phenomenal One, with the storyline being him chasing a record 17th World title victory.

Although if a new report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer is to be believed then this match won’t be happening as The Leader Of Cenation “is in a much bigger match than Styles.”

While Meltzer couldn’t reveal the exact opponent for him at the show, he narrowed down the list to 4 possible candidates, who according to him could face the 16-time World Champion at the event.

The names in the list which would fit ‘Bigger match than Styles’ stipulation include The Undertaker, Batista, Goldberg and Hulk Hogan. Though out of these four a situation where Hulk Hogan returns looks to be the least likely considering his controversial exit.

At this point, no further details are known but it’s believed that WWE can kick off some big WrestleMania angles at the upcoming Raw 25th-anniversary episode.
