Pro wrestling fans are well aware that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is likely to draw attention to himself. Whether it’s because of his son, Nick Hogan, getting into trouble for a DUI or because Hogan himself did something else. ‘The Hulkster’ recently announced an appearance at the Republican National Convention where he declared that former President Donald Trump is his “hero.”
Hulk Hogan is back in the spotlight for reasons beyond his wrestling career. On Thursday, August 22, 2024, Hogan made an appearance at a Kroger store in Liberty Township, Ohio, to promote his new beer, “Real American Beer.” The event drew a crowd of fans excited to see the wrestling icon.
However, the promotion was tainted by controversy. Some protesters attended, angered by Hogan’s recent controversial remark about Vice President Kamala Harris, where he suggested he might “bodyslam” her. One protestor Nathaniel Livington, was detained by police during the event and sustained injuries, including a bloodied eye.
There was a crowd of people gathered, but they were there to see Hulk Hogan. A few of them wore Hogan merchandise, and some taunts were being heard from the crowd as the police officer led the two protestors away.
The police officer claimed that the protestor punched him. However, this was not seen on camera. The protestor denied this, as the police officer apologized that things had escalated that far.
The police officer led the two off the Kroger parking lot property as a line of people waiting to meet the two-time WWE Hall of Famer witnessed this go down. Then the videos picked back up after Livington was detained and was later taken off by the police.
