Impact Wrestling looking for new home on TV yet again

Impact Wrestling has been on Pop TV for almost three years now, but it seems that their deal is coming to an end. Impact’s deal with Pop ends on December 31st and could leave the promotion without a home for the beginning of 2019.

Impact averaged over 300,000 per year on Pop TV, but after drawing lower ratings this fall, were moved to the 10 PM timeslot. Since then, Impact has drawn some of the lowest ratings in its history, falling below 100,000.

With the company seemingly going through a resurgence with the wrestling world, garnering quite a good amount of positive press over the past year, Impact Wrestling will be looking for a channel with more availability that Pop.

With their current champion, Johnny Impact, getting some much-needed eyes on the company while taking part in Survivor: David vs Goliath, Impact Wrestling just might be able to work out a pretty good deal with whatever network decides to bring them on.

WWE Network sounds bad at first but…it makes sense. WWE Network needs content & has distribution. Impact has content and needs distribution.

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Are you saying there are people who like the new LAX? Because the new LAX is trash. You couldn’t find two more generic people than Ortiz and Santana.

I honestly think they should work out a deal with a rising platform like Twitch, if they can’t find a cable alternative. Digital platforms are eating up a pretty sizable chunk of the former cable landscape these days anyway.

New Lax, a lot of ppl

From memory I am sure the Pop TV deal was done out of desperation anyway, as I seem to remember they get no money from the deal, or very little anyway.
I do not really know much about North American channels to be honest, but does Anthem have any networks outside Canada? I know they have offices in New York, but not sure if they have any broadcast networks in the USA.

Now WWE is moving SD to Fox that rules them out I guess, and USA Network still has Raw, so that is them gone as well.
Can’t see Spike working with them again, so the options get smaller and smaller.
    Who else would be interested?

Is anyone in here NOT just a massive WWE mark? I’ve never been huge on TNA, but god damn.

Impact sucks and always will… to bad the name “Johnny Cage” is already taken. Would be a perfect name for John.

I don’t watch TNA anymore, all the ones I used to know are gone.

If they knew their deal was ending at the end of this year, why didn’t they have a new deal locked in a year ago, like WWE has done? I don’t care if the booking is better, it is past time that this company dies. The can’t even shoot the crowd anymore because they have less than 200 people in the stands. It’s so pathetic. They have people on TV that have no business being on TV like the Desi Hit Squad, Konnan and the new LAX, and Kongo Kong. Who’s tuning in to see those people? Nobody, and the ratings prove as much.
