Interesting detail on AEW & Impact Wrestling partnership

The ending of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite shocked the entire professional wrestling world. Kenny Omega won the AEW World Championship after being assisted by Don Callis. Callis then revealed that Omega will be on next week’s episode of Impact Wrestling.

The two promotions have formed a partnership and there are several possibilities as for what could happen next. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that “the Callis thing has been in the works for a while.” It was “presumed” that Don Callis thought of the partnership and Tony Khan agreed with it.

Meltzer said that it opens up the door, which would be great for Impact Wrestling as many of their talents are likely to end up on AEW television.

It was also noted that “AEW is wanting to work with people right now.” The two promotions are likely to be sharing their talents, so fans could get to see some excellent matches.

Impact Wrestling also aired a throwback match this week, which featured The Young Bucks during their time in TNA as Generation Me. It was said that this was likely foreshadowing, but they had no desire to make it far too obvious.
