Chelsea Green made her debut on Friday Night Smackdown last week. However, she suffered a broken wrist during the match and she underwent surgery for her injury. Since then she has started recuperating for her return.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Green was going to win the fatal four-way Survivor Series qualifier match against Natalya, Tamina Snuka, and Liv Morgan. The plans were changed once Green suffered the injury and it was Morgan who became the victor.
Morgan was said to be the original pick to win the match until “Vince McMahon tore up the script” on Thursday night. According to the original plans, it was going to be a triple threat match and Green would not have been included in it. However, “someone suggested to Vince” that Green was in a good condition to make her debut, which ultimately made it a fatal four-way match.
Meltzer also noted that Green was initially going to debut on Monday Night RAW when Paul Heyman was the Executive Director of the show. However, those plans were dropped after Heyman was fired from his position.
Just like the rest of my career, I couldn’t have an easy debut! LOL, that just wouldn’t be fit for my wild journey.
I’m headed into surgery now. I am beyond devastated but so excited to be a part of @WWE team SmackDown, when I get back! 💙— CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) November 14, 2020
