WWE considered interesting stipulation for Andrade vs. Rey Mysterio WrestleMania match

Andrade and Rey Mysterio were involved in a rivalry around the time for WrestleMania this year and it appears that the company had discussed an interesting stipulation for a possible match between the two.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE had actually considered a hair vs. mask match between these two Mexican stars for this year’s WrestleMania.

However, the officials were against cutting Andrade’s hair and they couldn’t remove Rey’s mask so they ultimately decided to nix this bout.

After this match was nixed, Andrade ended up competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal but Mysterio got a spot on the main card.

Rey challenged the then-champion Samoa Joe for his United States title at the show but the Masked Star was unable to beat Joe and capture the title.
