Charlotte Flair, one of the most prominent female wrestlers in WWE, is taking another break from the company as it enters a new era. This comes after she lost the SmackDown Women’s Title to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 in a match that some believed should have been the main event. In an interview with Boardroom, Flair discussed her absence from WWE and how it has affected her mindset.
Flair explained that while she never had any off-days before, she had to take a break last year after WrestleMania due to an injury and has now taken a few weeks off for something that she needed to take care of. She described it as both a blessing and a curse, as no one wants to be injured, but the first time she had an extended break from WWE was healthy for her mindset.
“For me, I went from having never any off-days to getting injured last year after WrestleMania and being off for seven months, and then now off again for a couple weeks for something that I needed to take care of, so it’s a blessing and a curse. Like, no one wants to be injured, but having that first time off for that extended amount of time, I think was definitely healthy for my mindset.”
Flair was drafted to the SmackDown brand during the 2023 WWE Draft and will return to FOX when her hiatus ends. Meanwhile, WWE is going through a transitional period as it merges with the UFC’s parent company, Endeavor Group, which could have significant implications for the wrestling industry.
Despite the timing of her hiatus, Flair remains focused and is taking full advantage of her time off. As a top WWE Superstar, she has earned the luxury of taking breaks as needed. Fans eagerly await her return and anticipate the challenges she will face in the rapidly evolving WWE landscape.
