Is Vince McMahon Done With Goldberg In WWE?

WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg made his return to WWE in 2016 after a hiatus of more than a decade from the company. He decimated Brock Lesnar in a squash match at Survivor 2016 and then win the Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in 2017. He defended his title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 in one of the main events of the show.  As revealed by his contract, Vince McMahon can only have him compete in one more match every year, so it needs to be meaningful. It’s rumored to be the last match of his contract, so it may be his retirement match. Goldberg might also be leaving WWE for AEW once his WWE contract ends.

He had two matches against Bobby Lashley at WWE SummerSlam and then WWE Crown Jewel on October 21st, 2021 in Saudi Arabia respectively. Goldberg beat Lashley in the second match. Since then, the WWE Hall Of Famer has been absent from WWE television.

The WWE Hall Of Famer returned on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown and immediately set his sights on The Tribal Chief’s WWE Universal Championship. They will face off against each other at the WWE Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia on February 19th.

Goldberg is set to appear on this week’s Smackdown from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The company will also tape next Friday’s Elimination Chamber go-home episode Friday. Goldberg will appear for the two Friday Night Smackdown episodes and Elimination Chamber. Afterwards, it seems the company has no plans for the WWE Hall Of Famer.
