Jake Hager will not wrestle in AEW until his next Bellator fight

Jake Hager made a surprise appearance during the debut episode of AEW on TNT, but he is yet to compete in a match.

While Hager has gotten physical, he has not competed in a match. The reason for this is due to the fact that he has a Bellator fight on October 25th at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jake Hager has agreed to not compete in AEW until he is done with his next fight. He will be facing Anthony Garrett, who is bigger in size, so it might not be an easy fight.

Owing to the fact that Hager’s character in AEW is based on his MMA career, it is understandable why he is focusing on his next fight. We wonder if he will come out on top in his fight.

I would make a joke about how Brock has Heyman to cut his promos… but Hager’s got Jericho for that, I suppose.

Oh sure, I definitely remember all of those classic Jack Swagger matches. Can’t get enough of them.

One of the better things about AEW. They are good with their story lines in not having a certain person wrestle without proving themselves accordingly. Aside from that, Jake’s contract with the MMA may have more weight to it than the AEW. I very well could be wrong on both ends.

That and he’s not a lazy bitch

  • Yeah, but at least Swagger/Hager can actually put on entertaining matches, and actually likes pro wrestling and isn’t simply in it for a check.

Nah. Brock is at least a draw ha ha

  • Keith Learmonth

So, he’s the Brock Lesnar of AEW?

And then if he gets beaten, it kinda ruins his whole “undefeated” gimmick doesn’t it.
Plus, I would guess that after the Bellator fight, unless he gets out without a scratch, he probably will not be ready to wrestle for a while after that too. There is a reason MMA fights have sizeable gaps between them for competitors.
