Jake Roberts ‘Wanted To Kill’ Ultimate Warrior

Jake Roberts was one of the toughest of the tough backstage in the days of old-school wrestling. Jake was so tough, in fact, that he planned out how he would kill Ultimate Warrior…WWE Fired Tom Phillips For Sad Reason.

On Dark Side of the Ring, as reported by 411Mania, Jake Roberts claimed Ultimate Warrior “prevented him from winning the WWE title and headlining WrestleMania 7.

Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts stated to those watching the episode at home that Warrior was: “A complete jerk in the ring and difficult to talk to.” To add to the growing list of those who disliked Warrior, Jim Cornette stated on Dark Side Of The Ring that Bobby Heenan wasn’t a fan at all of Warrior. Heenan, at the time had neck problems and Cornette claims that Ultimate Warrior broke his neck. This fiasco then lead Heenan to directly call out Warrior about the incident, but Warrior had no time to listen.

Cornette stated the following: “I am not trying to be a prick here, but he couldn’t wrestle. He couldn’t talk. He got over because he looked like a million dollars and the most successful promoter pushed him to the moon.”

Shari is quoted as saying: “It bothered Warrior to hear the boys talk bad about his wrestling. Some criticism was spot on, other criticism was not.” She then admitted that they didn’t know that Warrior had a sensitive and insecure side which is why he wanted to look so big as he had a lot of traumas growing up.

As the episode rolled forward, Jake then spoke again on what happened next between him and Warrior. At this point, Jake states that he was getting with Warrior in a Championship run (which, doesn’t really line up as Warrior dropped the belt by then). To Jake’s memory, he was told to go ask Warrior’s permission – which shocked him.

Jake remembers the night Warrior degraded him: “I went to his private dressing room and Warrior told me he didn’t care about me, my family, or wrestling as he just wanted to do his thing and leave.” as Jake was thrown out of his dressing room.

Jake sadly states: “It was like someone pi**ing in you mouth.” Jake carried the anger for years and years and wanted to literally kill Ultimate Warrior until Jake ran into Warrior backstage at his induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame right before his death. Jake had a roll of quarters ready to beat Warrior with, but Warrior tapped him on his shoulder and made amends. Jake closes: “It taught me a lesson…”
