James Storm on why he didn’t stay in NXT, says timing wasn’t right for him

James Storm debuted on NXT and had a cup of coffee with WWE. But it was very short lived and he ended up back in Impact Wrestling with his previous gimmick. Although some people were disappointed Storm decided not to stick around NXT, fans soon found solace in the fact Bobby Roode came to NXT and stayed as well as a slew of former Impact, ROH, and other workers from around the globe.

Storm recently spoke to Sporting News about his decision not to stay in NXT. In the end, he said the timing just wasn’t right for him.

“With the schedule of NXT and he was telling me we’re going to try and run 100-120 shows from here on out throughout the year and stuff,” Storm said. “It’s all great and everything but where I was, personally, in my life, I couldn’t be on the road that much because I had some family problems, my wife wanted to have another kid. So, it was one of those things where it wasn’t the right timing for me. Hunter straight up told me, ‘Go get your life together. This is my number. Maybe in two years, we can do business again.’”

He went on to give a little bit more explanation on why he made this decision. Even though some fans might not have understood when James decided to go back to his former employer, it seems like this choice is working out well for him.
