Foxx said,

“[Prince’s death] hit me really hard. Not only did I know him, but I musically worshipped him. When I was a kid, I would listen to his music and my grandmother did not understand. The actor reportedly also met Prince at a New Year’s party in Las Vegas in 1998 and had a fanboy moment with the star. Foxx mentioned:

“I met him in December 1998…I was like a fan saying, ‘Man, I know that ain’t Prince over there.’…I started kind of crying…And he was so cool, he knew I was shook. I was like, ‘Damn, the motherfu*ker is so cool’…I remember asking for a picture. I fu*ked up. [He said no] Yeah, it was a disposable camera and he said, ‘I don’t do those’.”

Prince was known for not taking pictures with fans or being clicked without his permission. Prince was one of the most successful American singers and is often regarded as one of the greatest musicians of all time. He passed away in 2016.
