Jamie Foxx Family ‘Preparing For The Worst’

Jamie Foxx is still receiving medical treatment after his serious health scare last month in Atlanta. He is currently in a new city, at a facility touted as the top physical medicine and rehabilitation center in the country. Jamie was first hospitalized April 12 in Atlanta for what his family called a “medical complication.” However, it seems that his health is headed in the right direction.

Jamie Foxx’s inner circle is holding out hope the actor will make a full recovery but is preparing “for the worst”, RadarOnline.com has reported.

Foxx has been hospitalized for four weeks after he suffered a medical emergency. “Jamie’s people are saying he’s doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems — but he wouldn’t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK,” said a source.

In the wake of an April 11 collapse, Jamie has received round-the-clock care at the Atlanta facility. Daughter Corinne, 29, initially announced her dad had experienced a “medical complication” without revealing any of the details.

As of May 9, the Ray star still hasn’t appeared in public — but his Instagram shared the message, “Appreciate all the love!!!! Feeling blessed.”

However, there was no picture attached, raising the alarm about his health problems. Then the Any Given Sunday star was replaced by Nick Cannon as host of the FOX game show Beat Shazam!

Nick has expressed concern for his friend and said, “Man, I’m praying. I literally have been saying prayers out loud.”

It was previously reported that Jamie’s family, including his daughters Corinne and Anelise, as well as Anelise’s mother, Kristin Grannis, were all in Chicago both Saturday and Sunday to spend time with Foxx during his continued care.

TMZ reported that the facility specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation. The outlet reported that Foxx arrived at this facility in Chicago in late April after initially getting treatment in an Atlanta hospital.

It is noted that he’s “recovering well.” Jamie’s loved ones appeared to be in good spirits over the weekend, and there are signs he’s alert and active including the fact Kristin left the center with Mother’s Day flowers and a balloon.

TMZ reported Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, and his close friend, Dave Brown, were among Jamie’s visitors over the weekend. Both looked serious, and seemingly showed up to the facility for their time with Jamie.

It’s not entirely clear what sort of treatment Jamie’s getting in Chicago, but we know the facility offers services to people who are recovering from strokes, spinal injuries and even cancer treatment. There’s no indication Foxx has cancer.
