Japanese Ice Ribbon Pro Wrestling star involved in stabbing incident

There was a pretty scary incident recently in Japan. It could have been much worse but thankfully this situation was apparently resolved. Albeit the situation was concluded with someone being carted away by the police. Whenever the police have to arrest someone it’s never an ideal happening. But when you’re talking about someone almost getting stabbed then things could have always been worse.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that this incident happened very recently in Japan. In fact, he went on to say that he might have been the one breaking this news when he talked about it on the program.

Before he started telling the story, Meltzer wanted to make it very clear that this wasn’t an actual stabbing but an attempted stabbing. But any kind of event with the word “stabbing” in it is still a serious situation nonetheless.

“So a wrestler named Tsukushi, she’s a women’s wrestler with Ice Ribbon she was at a place with Kagetsu who’s a women’s wrestler who works for a couple groups including Stardom. And Tsukushi tried to stab — you know we’re talking about — she tried to stab Kagetsu. This was earlier today actually, last night and the police came and Tsukushi was arrested. I don’t wanna say no one knows about it. But it’s not like it’s out in Japan. It will be now. But that’s what happened.”

Tsukushi is a 19-year-old female wrestler with an entire career in front of her. But with an attempted stabbing under her belt, it might spell really bad things for the future of her career.

If you haven’t seen either Tsukushi or Kagetsu perform before it’s worth your time to check them out. Thankfully this situation seemed to be resolved without anyone being seriously injured. But in the end, any story about a stabbing isn’t a good time.
