Jerry Lawler’s return to RAW commentary team will not be for long

Jerry Lawler will be making his return to the commentary team on RAW, but it is a unlikely he will be on the show for a long period of time.

WWE announced that the RAW commentary team will now comprise of Vic Joseph, Dio Maddin, and Jerry Lawler. Lawler’s return certainly excited fans, however according to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet, he will not be there for long.

Lawler’s role in WWE is said to be a temporary one as WWE is looking for a replacement.

“According to sources, Lawler will likely only be used for a short period of time on Raw. We’re told other people are being looked at for the spot on a full-time basis.”

It will definitely be great to see The King back on RAW in any case.

I agree. He -needs- J.R, and they both need to be fully invested in the product. Jerry’s best work is when he plays off JR.

Lawler has been awful for the best part of two decades.

Like many “inside information” stories, it was total BS.
Probably something some idiot fed to Meltzer and he believed it.

What happened to the report that they were going back to a 2 man team?

    Will it be great, though?
I mean, yeah, Jerry was great 20 years ago, but without J.R to counter him, he’s never been quite as good as in his prime. Those two always work best as a unit.
