Jim Ross is grateful to Vince McMahon, can’t wait to get started with AEW

Jim Ross was announced as one of the members in AEW’s broadcasting team as well as being signed for a backstage role of a “senior advisor.” He recently talked to Sports Illustrated about the signing and his time in the WWE.

Ross says that he will always be grateful to Vince McMahon for employing him for 26 years in the WWE.

“I’ll always be grateful to Vince McMahon for 26 memorable years in WWE. However, now is the time to begin a new phase of my journey and to continue the love affair that I’ve always had with pro wrestling.”

As for doing play-by-play commentary in AEW, Ross thinks that he’s back in the game and that he can bring value to the broadcasting team of the company. And the enthusiasm and excitement that Ross has for his new job is wholesome, really.

“Helping create a new brand with AEW is heart-pounding. I can’t wait to prepare. I’ve always believed I had some gas left in the tank, and today I believe it more than ever. I can’t wait to get started with this fresh and vibrant new company. Business is about to pick up.”
