Artificial Intelligence is taking the world by storm. There are benefits of this technology, but it also has some drawbacks. American President Joe Biden learnt it the hard way when he watched ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning’ with Deputy White House Chief of Staff Bruce Reed.
Mr. President has seen fake AI generated images of him in the past, but it looks like something else has bothered him more than those images. It’s the possible misuse of this technology that has sent out an alarm to the President.
It’s this that has made him pass out an executive order on Monday. The order puts into perspective that AI companies will have to share their safety test results with the U.S. government.
This is essential as the world is changing and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA situation in Hollywood comes under the same domain. It’s one of the reasons that’s causing an issue during the conversation with the studios. According to Deadline, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Bruce Reed told Associated Press about what concerned the President.
He saw fake AI images of himself, of his dog. He saw how it can make bad poetry. And he’s seen and heard the incredible and terrifying technology of voice cloning, which can take three seconds of your voice and turn it into an entire fake conversation.
One thing is clear: to realize the promise of AI and avoid the risk, we need to govern this technology. There’s no other way around it.

Will this be a reason that will make votes turn in Joe Biden’s favour?
Every decision is crucial for Joe Biden as it will set the stage if Biden will be re-elected in 2024. While it’s still a suspense if he will be the Democrat party candidate for the election, it’s worth noting that his actions will pave the way for the next Presidential candidate from his party to cash on his effective decisions.
Donald Trump doesn’t have a say in this situation, and it doesn’t seem like he would be in the race in case his indictment cases go against him.
The former president is trying everything in his power to make it to the race, but his past actions come back to hinder his journey. One would have to see if Trump would find a fault in this executive order and address it in any of his upcoming rallies.
