On Monday, President Joe Biden returned to the White House following a weekend spent at his Rehoboth Beach home in Delaware. Biden, who had traveled to his beach house last Thursday after several days of avoiding the public eye, has spent roughly 40% of his presidency vacationing in Delaware. Notably, his visits have been marked by a lack of transparency, as there are no visitor logs available for these stays.
During his time at the beach, Biden appeared notably unenergetic, prompting some to comment on his physical appearance as he relaxed in the sun. At 81 years old, the president’s public appearance upon returning to Washington was subdued; he avoided taking questions from the media as he walked across the South Lawn and retreated into the White House, where he will remain out of public view for the rest of the day.
Concerns have been raised about who is effectively running the country in Biden’s absence. The president has faced a series of medical issues recently, but the White House physician has been criticized for not providing full transparency regarding his health status.
In a recent interview, CBS News reporter Robert Costa questioned Biden about the skepticism surrounding his health and his ability to fulfill his duties for the remaining five months of his term. Biden responded firmly, stating, “I have no serious problem!” despite ongoing concerns and speculation about his health.
