John Cena enters himself into the Royal Rumble

Sound those trumpets! The Champ has announced that he’ll be a part of the 2018 Royal Rumble Match!

Since his match against Roman Reigns, John Cena has rarely been used, showing up to be a part of the Survivor Series match or appear on one off episodes of Monday Night Raw. Cena’s latest appearance involved a match with one of Raw’s newer acquisitions, Elias. Nearing Wrestlemania season, many fans have been wondering what kind of angle Cena would be a part of.

Well, today on Twitter, the leader of the Cenation announced that he’ll be entering the Royal Rumble match.

Any time Cena enters the rumble, he’s considered one of the favorites. But this year, there might be some real weight behind that belief. Due to the possible spoilers we’ve seen recently for Smackdown Live’s PPV Fastlane, which has a fatal five way main event between AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura, those names are out of contention.

Roman Reigns has been the favorite to win the Rumble since earlier this year, and the match may come down to a fight between the past and present of the company. Cena and Reigns put on a great match back at No Mercy, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them end the rumble together.
