John Cena on his relationship with Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon runs WWE the way he wants to as he has the last word in everything that goes on in the company. John Cena was the face of the company for more than a decade. The two have a very complex relationship.

John Cena spoke to Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he provided an explanation as to what Vince McMahon means to him. It includes the like of being a father figure and friend.

“He is so much more than that to me. He is a friend, a father figure, a mentor, a trusting resource. He’s filled with wisdom, but above all else, yes, I still think of him as my boss.”

“He’s also had a tremendous affect on my life. I mean, that’s a couch session for you and I, I’m probably going to have to pay you a therapist fee for that,” Cena joked. “But he’s really had a tremendous impact on my life.”

Cena has a busy life in Hollywood now but has made it clear he wants to do something substantial at this year’s Wrestlemania. Perhaps we will see him compete in a match at Wrestlemania 36.

Yeah, I have no hate for Cena as a person, though I did get sick to death of him being shoved down our throats as “THE GUY” for like a decade. But OF COURSE he’s tight with McMahon. Vince has acted tight with all of his tippy-top stars, with the possible exception of Brock, whom I have a very hard time imagining is “tight” with anyone, except Heyman. The dude’s a POS mercenary, in my opinion.

But Cena was a cash cow. Of course Vince was gonna bend over backwards for him and act super nice, as long as business was good.

This is no surprise. Without Vinces backing, Cena would never have been as big as he was. Guys like The Rock, Austin and even Hogan made themselves and got the push from Vince because of their popularity.
Cena on the other hand was very much a Vince project and Vince was determined to get him over regardless.

And of course Vince is gonna love his cash cow.

Not saying there is not any genuine friendship between them, or that there is anything wrong with the whys, just that it is no actual surprise all things considered.

More power to Cena for what he has achieved, even if I was not a fan.
