John Cena reacts to SmackDown return announcement

As reported earlier, John Cena has been announced for the February 28 episode of SmackDown. The Leader of the Cenation is doing several big-budget films that have kept him away from the WWE.

But now, he’s finally back and the WWE Universe is hyped.

Cena took to his Twitter account earlier today to react to his return announcement. The former 16-time World Champion thanked WWE for letting him come and promote the upcoming film “The Invisible Man” on SmackDown.

Cena doesn’t star in the film and most likely said this as a joke, given that he is somewhat of an invisible entity himself.

Cena’s last appearance in WWE was at last year’s WrestleMania where he returned portraying his old “Dr of Thuganomics” gimmick in a segment with Elias. After that, Cena took off to work on several other projects, including the latest installment of the “Fast” series – Fast and Furious 9, in which he plays the main antagonist.

It will be interesting to see what Cena has in stores for the WWE Universe. A potential match at WrestleMania, perhaps?
