WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is currently the top star on Friday Night SmackDown.
Since his heel turn, he has been a dominant force in WWE and have successfully defended the title on multiple occasions. He has squared off against top tier stars, most recently Cesaro, who could not dethrone The Tribal Chief.
John Cena to return soon?
As it turns out, the wrestler-turned actor John Cena is slated to make his return to the company. He had made his last in-ring appearance during the Firefly Funhouse Match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. Alexa Bliss Filmed With Fired Smackdown Star
He recently revealed the locations of WrestleMania 38 and 39. There have been multiple rumors about his return and recently Mat Men Podcast confirmed that a the former WWE Champion would return. His big return would see him go head to head with Reigns, that too at the Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
One of the reddit users took note of this and asked if they were reliable source said:
“They confirmed Cena vs Roman for SummerSlam, 100% at Allegiant Stadium and said it’s absolutely not on August 22nd. They won’t share the same weekend as the Manny Pacquiao fight.”
It is to be noted that Mat Men Podcast had confirmed the legit news of NXT moving to Tuesdays and WWE resuming their tours and live events. One of the fans replied:
“They’ve been very reliable recently as they broke NXT to Tuesdays and I think fans coming back for WWE.”
We will have to see what WWE has planned for Cena and how they would put him in a match with Reigns at SummerSlam.
