John Morrison was absent on WWE Monday Night Raw tonight, as he did not appear during Miz TV with Drew McIntyre. The Miz stated that the reason was that Morrison was recording a Bad Bunny diss track. The Miz also announced that he was removing himself from the Elimination Chamber match for Drew McIntyre’s WWE title, as his Money in the Bank briefcase entitles him to a match whenever he wants. McIntyre is rumored to wrestle Edge at a surprising WWE PPV.
Morrison’s wife Taya Valkyrie just signed with WWE, just weeks after her departure from Impact Wrestling. Valkyrie will be headed to the NXT brand. Taya and Morrison last worked together in Impact Wrestling, where Morrison was world champion.
Valkyrie first gained fame on the Indies during her time wrestling in Lucha Libre AAA, winning the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship three times. She still holds that title to this day. She burst onto the scene in the United States in 2016 when she arrived in Lucha Underground alongside Johnny Mundo, aka John Morrison.
Valkyrie had largely been involved in comedic storylines in Impact Wrestling recently, including the ‘Who Shot John E. Bravo’ angle, which is how she was written off after being caught as the shooter. She also appeared in the ‘Wrestle House’ skits last summer.
