New Japan Pro Wrestling has provided confirmation that Jon Moxley is no longer the IWGP United States Champion. He has been stripped of the title owing to travel issues from Typhoon Hagibis, which has made it so that he will not be present for the King of Pro Wrestling event.
Due to this, Juice Robinson will be facing off against Lance Archer for the now vacant title. Juice Robinson has been having a great year so far. The belief is that Moxley will be challenging the winner of the match for the title, but no confirmation has been given as of yet.
Here is NJPW’s official statement:
“Due to travel delays as a result of this weekend’s Typhoon Hagibis, we regret to announce that Jon Moxley will be unable to appear at Ryogoku Sumo Hall for King of Pro Wrestling on Monday October 14.”
As Jon Moxley is unable to appear for a scheduled IWGP United States Championship defence tonight at King of Pro Wrestling, his title has been declared vacant.
Lance Archer and Juice Robinson will wrestle for the vacated title tonight.
