Jon Moxley Match ‘Angered’ Top Smackdown Star

Daniel Bryan remains one of the top Superstars in WWE. He was at the height of his popularity in 2014 after winning both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at WrestleMania 30. Unfortunately, he had to retire a couple of years later due to career-threatening concussion issues. It seems current AEW star Jon Moxley had a huge role to play in making Daniel Bryan make his in-ring return to WWE. Jon Moxley was also embarrassed by a recent explosion at WWE Fastlane pay-per-view.

Daniel Bryan recently spoke to Bleacher Report, where he revealed how he was at ringside once when Moxley squared off against AJ Styles.

The match had a huge effect on him and ultimately helped him make an in-ring comeback as he was enraged at the fact that he had not faced AJ Styles at that point.

”The worst one was when I had to sit ringside for a Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles match and that was the one that broke me. AJ and I at that point hadn’t [fought]. He hadn’t come to WWE before I retired. Seeing those guys go out there, and they’re both great, I was like, ‘Man, I should be in there doing this with these guys.’ It really ate me up, and when I came home, I think Brie saw a different person as far as striving to prove.”
