KENTA attacked Jon Moxley and hit the move CM Punk popularized in the United States (despite not creating it, KENTA did that), the GTS, to end AEW Dynamite ‘Beach Break’ episode. With this exciting ending, it looks like AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling will finally be working together.
While the ending was fantastic and a shocker, fans pointed out that the GTS looked weak and botched, some some blamed Moxley for taking it poorly.
Justin Henry tweeted, “AEW Dynamite ends with the GTS, just as we all figured it would one day #aewdynamite.”
Tio said, “Moxley with the worst sell job of the GTS! All arm not even close to his head! #AEWbeachbreak. Nice to see Kenta but How does anyone watch this 2nd rate crap over #NXT
It’s not even close!”
Kyle wrote, “Mox’s sell on the GTS was…something.”
Xander Blue tweeted, “Doesn’t look like he connected with the GTS at all.”
American Nightmare added, “(I don’t really follow NJPW or wherever the Kenta/Moxley feud is from, but that was a cool way to end Dynamite! Also side note. That GTS looked week imo.)”
Kyle Kayfabe chimed in, “I know Kenta created the GTS, but ever since his NXT days, he’s is so bad at executing it. #AEWDynamite.”
Despite this, all pro wrestling fans are excited to see Moxley vs. KENTA at NJPW New Beginning on February 26th for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship.
