NJPW had been teasing the arrival of a new star in recent times and as noted before it turned out to be none other than the former WWE Champion Jon Moxley.
This news was confirmed by Moxley himself, who made a tweet featuring another interesting promo and confirmed that he will debut for the promotion on June 5th:

Though this appearance doesn’t seem to be the start of a relationship between the Japenese promotion and AEW as NJPW president has released the following statement on the matter:
New Japan and Jon Moxley came to terms on an agreement some time ago, completely independently of All Elite. Our understanding is that he is free to wrestle in Japan. We wish AEW well, but have no working relationship as of now.
So far Jon Moxley has been impressing fans with his promo work and it’d be interesting to see how much his wrestling style changes when he makes in-ring return.
