Former WWE Superstar and current AEW star Jon Moxley is without a shadow of a doubt, one of the most popular pro wrestlers in the world right now. He is also a former AEW World Champion and IWGP United States Champion. Mark Henry had leaked a Vince McMahon AEW phone call.
Jon Moxley was a mainstay of WWE television since signing with the company over a decade ago and from 2012 to 2019, he had a tremendous career in the company, winning multiple championships along the way. He parted ways with WWE back in 2019 and went on to sign with AEW, where he has had a great run so far.
Last year, Jon Moxley entered into an alcohol rehabilitation program after finally realizing he needs proper help to conquer his demons. The former AEW World Champion received a lot of support from friends, family, and fans alike.
Jon Moxley has been lighting the professional wrestling and sports entertainment landscape on fire since joining the company during their inaugural pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing on May 25, 2019, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Similar to his days as a member of the Shield and as Dean Ambrose, Moxley entered through the crowd – both attacking Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. A former AEW World Champion himself, fast forward to 2022, Moxley returned to AEW programming on the January 19th, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite after it was revealed he has entered a rehab program for alcohol addiction.
During last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Seth Rollins mentioned Jon Moxley during a promo directed towards WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. According to Ringside News, Seth Rollins mentioning Jon Moxley during his promo was part of the script and has been approved the show itself. However, this does not mean Jon Moxley will appear during the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Seth Rollins caused WWE fans to perk up when he namedropped Jon Moxley on television recently.
We were told that Moxley's mention on SmackDown was 100% scripted. So, it was not off-the-cuff and there was no surprise there to anyone who knew what the script said.
