Jonathan Coachman signs WWE deal, will return tonight

Jonathan Coachman, former WWE employee turned ESPN broadcaster, is returning to where it all began. He has signed a deal to return to the company and will officially return to television tonight in Philadelphia.

Coachman will replace WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, who will return to his old as a panelist on the WWE Network Kickoff shows. Booker of course was only temporarily on commentary while David Otunga was filming for a movie role, but Otunga instead returned to take on a panelist role of his own.

The former “interim” General Manager was with WWE in 1999 all the way through to 2008 where he become a regular on screen character, and was also a sideline reporting during the launch of XFL in 2001.

ESPN released Coachman last-year when his contract expired as part of their cost-cutting measures, but during his time he was pivotal in forming a relationship between the two parties through initiatives such as a weekly WWE interviews with talents.

Welcome back Coach.
