The ‘Tribute to the Kings’ event headlined by MMA legend Anderson Silva and former WBC middleweight titleholder Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. took place on Saturday, June 19, at Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico. It was promoted by Borizteca Boxing and Toscano Promotions and produced by Global Sports Streaming. As revealed by reports, it seems the promoters of the event wanted to get UFC megastars, Nate and Nick Diaz, to compete in boxing matches at the event as well. However, while Nate Diaz was definitely interested in competing at the event, it seems the UFC prevented him from doing so. Nate Diaz also called out UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman for picking opponents whom he defeated before. Nate Diaz’s sad apology to Kamaru Usman previously leaked as well.
Kamaru Usman is also not a huge fan of Conor Mcgregor and the same is true for Conor McGregor’s feelings towards Usman. During a recent Q&A session on Twitter, Conor McGregor stated that he was confident in beating Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight Championship.
Tremendous! I love this record! I fight for the 170lb title I will spark him too. That would be fastest ko in ufc title fight (13 seconds) Most knockdowns in ufc title fight (5) And then another KO in a ufc title fight. 3 title fights. 3 ko’s. 3 new records. It’s right there!
Kamaru Usman then fired back at McGregor, claiming that McGregor must be smoking marijuana because of what he said.
“Spark who?? You must be talking about that pipe you’ve been smoking. Unlike you, if I’m gonna talk sh*t ill @ U. Now be quiet before I call Poirier or Khabib or Diaz to finish you again #P4P
