Becky Lynch is still one of the most popular female WWE Superstars in recent memory. The Man’s meteoric rise to Superstardom back in 2018 is well documented. It propelled her career to the absolute top, which culminated in her winning both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania 35, defeating both Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in the main event of the Show of Shows. She is also engaged to WWE Superstar Seth Rollins and the two welcomed their baby girl Roux in December of 2020. Becky Lynch previously broke character after her match against WWE Hall Of Famer Lita as well.
Becky Lynch made her return at WWE SummerSlam as she went on to defeat Bianca Belair in a squash match and became the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Since then, she has defended her title successfully against the likes of Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Doudrop, and Lita.
She then lost the title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. As seen in the main event of this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Becky Lynch lost to Asuka in a #1 contender’s match for Bianca Belair’s RAW Women’s Championship.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Becky Lynch suggested that Asuka defeat her in the match after Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out from Monday Night RAW this past week.
“A suggestion was made, reportedly by Lynch, to have Lynch vs. Asuka in a singles match for the title shot. Because they are trying to avoid a straight singles match with Belair and Lynch until a major PPV show, Lynch couldn’t win here, so Asuka pinned Lynch after blowing green mist in her eyes when Lynch at first tried to use Asuka’s umbrella as a foreign object.”
