Former NXT Champion and the self proclaimed ‘Limitless one’ Keith Lee has had a rough go of things during the past couple of months. First, missing several editions of Monday Night Raw due to COVID-19 protocols and then missing a planned triple threat match during the 2021 edition of the Elimination pay-per-view. Taking to social media via Twitter, Lee summed up his feelings and thoughts on the matter in a very short but impactful post that stated: “Hard Times”. You can view it below. This Keith Lee WWE Championship win rumor was recently revealed.
In other news regarding the former NXT North American Champion, Dave Meltzer recently discussed during a new edition of Wrestling Observer Radio why Keith Lee was ultimately replaced during the Elimination Chamber triple threat match with John Morrison. Lee was originally set to face then-current WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley at the pay-per-view event along with ‘The Original Bro’ Riddle. However, at last minute Lee was taken out of the match due to injury and Morrison was named as the replacement after winning a match on the pre-show. Meltzer explained how the third man in this match was critical.
“The finish came when Riddle hit Lashley with MVP’s crutch and sent him out of the ring, leaving Morrison exposed and Riddle to capitalize and win the title. Only a Triple Threat would have allowed for that kind of sequence and whoever came out of the Fatal Four-Way in the pre-show was going to be asked to do the favors for Riddle and Lashley.” Keith Lee unloaded on WWE fans before missing Raw not too long ago
