Keith Lee ‘Sad Loss’ Due To WWE Absence Revealed

Keith Lee has been off WWE TV since February due to medical reasons and it appears that his absence has cost the former champion a big opportunity.

Lee last competed during the February 8 episode of Raw where the former NXT champion defeated Matt Riddle in a one-on-one bout. He was then expected to be a part of the triple threat match for the United States championship at the Elimination Chamber PPV.

However, he was replaced by John Morrison in the bout after being taken off TV. The match then saw Matt Riddle picking up the victory and becoming the new US Champion.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Keith Lee was originally going to win the US championship from the then champion Bobby Lashley, but his absence from the bout cost him the opportunity.

Lee has addressed the fans multiple times during his absence and he has made several posts from his Twitter account telling fans that he appreciates their support.

Though despite all the talks about his status, there is no word yet on when the former champion might make his return to WWE programming and all the fans can do right now is hope that he makes a comeback sooner rather than later.
