Kenny Omega hoping to start a relationship between AEW and DDT Pro-Wrestling

Kenny Omega

Back at the Double or Nothing Ticket Announcement Party, it was revealed that All Elite Wrestling had brought in Kenny Omega as a talent and Executive Vice President. In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Omega talked about hoping to work with more promotions.

AEW already has a working relationship with both AAA and Oriental Wrestling Entertainment, but Omega feels that they could gain a lot by joining forces with DDT Pro-Wrestling, a company he called his home for a good portion of his career.

I’m scouting the Joshi talent. I also wanna work with DDT again. I want to showcase the DDT style, and Yuka Sakazuki is truly one of a kind. There’s no one else like her.

Omega achieved quite a bit of success in DDT, winning both tag team and singles gold, even capturing the promotions top title, the KO-D Openweight Championship.

President of DDT Pro Sanshiro Takagi responded, “Kenny is family; if he needs our help, he’s getting it.” With that, it looks like a partnership between the two companies is inevitable.

I’d be curious to see how that goes over.

I mean, AEW’s fans are largely the same people who piss all over WWE whenever they have a comedy act on the show, and DDT is, for the most part, a comedy wrestling company, at least from what I’ve seen.
